Youth Engagement Educator

This important person on the Kesher team is primarily responsible for overseeing the care of children as they arrive to Kesher After School and engage in play activities before the start of formal classes.

The successful candidate has experience working with children between ages 5 and 12 and is willing to serve as an occasional driver for the school van that picks up children at local schools. A safe driving record and willingness to obtain a 7D license to drive students is required, as is CPR/First Aid certification – for which training will be offered.

Hours are Mondays through Thursdays (any or all days available), 2:00-4:00pm.

Teachers

Kesher After School seeks energetic and creative educators for our non-denominational after-school program for grades K-7. For over 25 years, Kesher After School has led an innovative and progressive approach to supplementary education

Our teachers possess a passionate, charismatic, student-centered approach to Jewish learning. They facilitate authentic learning experiences within an immersive “ivrit b’ivrit” environment that enables students to reach learning goals.

 

Qualified candidates will be proficient in Hebrew, experienced in teaching Hebrew as a second language, exhibit a deep knowledge of Jewish culture, and have facility in differentiating instruction. In addition, they will have excellent communication skills in both Hebrew and English, exhibit patience and flexibility, and be able to collaborate and work as part of a cohesive educational team. Experience in the Proficiency Approach to Hebrew language instruction and/or Project-Based lesson design is preferred.
