Bryna Chalmer

Director of Kesher After School

Bryna Chalmer began her teaching career at Kesher ten years ago. She has a wide range of teaching experiences, including congregational, Jewish camp, and  tutoring. Bryna is also the founder of Fat Boyfriend Bakery, a specialty shop which sold Bavarian style soft pretzels to local establishments.

Shuly Rothman


Shulamit has been a teacher in both Israel and the US. She has extensive experience with children of all ages, and joined Kesher after working for a long time at a preschool in the area. This year she's very much looking forward to working with all the students at Kesher and building a wonderful Hebrew learning experience.

Shiran Natan


A sociology and communication graduate at the Tel-Aviv University (BA), Shiran is an active member and a caregiver at the Kids Cambridge Cooperative day care, and a mother to Oria and Naomi. 

She has a passion for teaching kids and has been involved in a broad volunteer activity, such as working with kids in a boarding school for children at-risk, and tutoring elementary and high school students.

Liz Levin

Director of Curriculum and Educational Developement

Liz Levin is the new Director of Kesher After School. She grew up in Baltimore in an active Jewish family, belonged to Jewish youth groups, and attended summer camp affiliated with Habonim Dror, a Labor Zionist organization. As a teen, Liz began working in Jewish education as a tutor and youth group counselor, and she served as a delegate to the World Zionist Congress in Israel. 

In college, Liz majored in History and Religious Studies at McGill University in Montreal. She holds a Certificate in Jewish Informal Education, Leadership, and Camping from Hebrew College and a Certificate in Teaching English to Young Learners from Cambridge University. She earned her MA in Religious Education from Hebrew Union College in 2014 and has been running formal and informal Jewish educational programs in the Boston area for a decade.

Liz lives in Waltham with her husband and three young daughters.
